Question: could berserking on purpose for the first time be considered an initiation? In a way thats what an initiation is, in that it's usually the first time someone berserks on purpose. Have y'all known anyone to have a full gangr on purpose before or without an initiation? I can raise a lil wod, that's about it.

I have known one, and only one, berserker who could just do it at will, without an initiation. Out of about 400. All the others who had control needed initiations. Most had neither initiation nor control, with the gangr coming out only at need or at random.

So I pretty much will need an initiation. Ok, I have a lot to think about. I've been somewhat planning it years, but I know it's not to be taken lightly so I'm going to make sure I'm ready first.

Initiation is ritual death. We step from beyond the world of the living and literally become a member of the wild host, that is we join the cult of death, as we have died... After a fashion. As Ymir died, we must die, as Óðinn died, we must die. A sacrifice, ourselves to ourselves, so that we may fall back, screaming, fall back and awaken to both worlds at once. One world is that which we know, the other is the one that fills our souls with such righteous fire that we must consume, or else scorch ourselves. Freki and Geri, greedy and ravenous, such is our way.
