I hope this place will become active again. I was away too long. Trying to blend in with the "normal" world is eating my sanity.

Welcome back.
Who wants to be normal, anyway?

Hey, Mutz! Glad to see someone keeping up with the forum. I'm still learning how to even run a forum. I'm not the most internet savvy, but I care about keeping this community alive. Out of curiosity, how did you know I had posted? Do you check this forum periodically? Or do you get an email notification when someone posts? I've been trying to figure out how to get email notifications when someone posts, but idk how to set it up.

I check the forum at least once a day...
Struggling to understand what I'm.
I feel "normal" reading that I'm not alone

I'm glad to see that you check once a day. How have things been going for you? I'm dealing with an unhealthy level of trying to suppress my nature, which only makes things worse and does not work, but my job requires it. I think my attempts at suppression even messed with my physical health. I have to make a change in my life.

I'm still working in the same company, but I went to another department. Now I have time to breathe without the burning desire to punch throats. Went back to powerlifting and when I feel lost a draw a map (meditating drawings) it helps me. I'm also studying Latin and it brings back some good memories from my grandfather, wich taught me some when I was a teenager. So I'm constantly in a madspace state and it is great.

As a matter of fact I realized that when I'm physically exhausted, my mind gets clear and relaxed.
So heavy workouts early in the morning helps me to be "more in control" of my day.

I should move my workout to morning as well! That's a good thought. Even if it means getting up a little earlier. What are some other techniques you have been using?

Btw I'm really happy today Hit a bench press PR 140 kg (308.65 lbs) for 3 reps I was able to get in a really good elevation state before I was in a good one earlier too from working out and now utterly exhausted coming down from it. As a hypochondriac, I always think I'm dying during the comedown. But I can laugh about that now that I'm older. Anyway before my workout I actually was at this place where people were doing Yoga. It was actually my first time trying it. I guess I'd been against it 'cause my therapist had tried to push it on me years ago. But it actually turned out to be a great idea because it forces me to focus on my movements and breathing at the same time. It'll help me get better at meditative focus while simultaneously doing other stuff, which is important. Have you ever tried it?

Never tried yoga A friend of mine let me borrow a old Jesuit book on mental control and I got one exercise that I really appreciate to get in a focused state I draw imaginary infinity patterns on air. Basically draw with your hands in the air a pattern that ends where it begins... So you can draw it until feel the flow. It's great

We should probably make a seperate thread on mental control and focus. I'm learning about all kinds of things I didn't know and it's fascinating. I've found a few old forum members and I might be able to get 'em back on here or maybe even make a better forum
